A day trip in Yung Shue O

A day trip in Yung Shue O

08 November, 2012

It is good to breathe some air in the fall season. Last month the staff of 9days took a short break and visited Yung Shue O near Tai Po.

Yung Shue O was a remote area near Tai Po. Once a Hakka settlement, it is an urban green zone closest to Wu Kai Sha Station but out of the reach of public transports. Visitors are advised to get there by taxi or private vehicles.

It is also one of the best spots to observe butterflies – on that Monday we saw quite of lot of enthusiasts taking cameras with them.

We were equally equipped. We brought the sexist cameras along – Leica M, TLR, DSLR and also … iPhone!

Before the trip we rented a raft, which owner would connect us to different islands for sightseeing. The plan was to have barbecue and karaoke there at night time.

Fishing on the raft was fun. So of them have no experience of fishing at all.

We sailed to Lai Chi Chong, a village reserved by the government of special scientific interest. The igneous rocks and sedimentary rocks were peculiar.

Speical attention must be paid to walk on these slippery rocks

Little puppies on the island

After taking us on board, the carrier boat has some wakeboard practices.

Our next stop is Sham Chung which was very scenic.

This area was a suspended golf course site in which you could still find bunkers and waterways. It is believed the project was put on hold some years.

It is also where the movie “2 Young” was shot.

We took some rest in the store. By the time left there was almost sunset.
